As you should know by now i'm not one to follow the herd when it comes to posting on my blog site. In fact, i believe that is one thing that is unique about this site. Now with that said, earlier in this blog's life i discussed "3 Ways to Increase Your Blog Stats," a post alone explaining the methods used to increase my blog stats boosted my blog site to a 268k rank within Alexa from 600k in a matter of weeks. To some that's not impressive but to me being a fairly new blogger it was an amazing feat.

Online Blog Marketing Tip #1 - Become a Testimonial Giant

That's right, become a testimonial giant. With all of the new products and innovative services entering into the market nowadays why should you not make an attempt to capitalize on their success?

Start Small

Contact the plugin guys, the developers and owners, their sites generate a good amount of traffic as WordPress, Blogger, and TypePad (and others) bloggers are constantly searching for new plugins to test and brag about.

Make contact and offer to test their plugin and write a review in exchange for a testimonial spot and linkback on their front page. What's the worst that can happen? If they say no, bow out with grace and ask if they are currently working on an updated version or possibly on a new plugin that you can promote for them in exchange for a testimonial spot on the plugin's page with a linkback to your site. In some cases you may not even need a linkback, but to have your domain (www.your-site-here.com) on the page alone will generate some good traffic to your site.

I assume most plugin 'owners' will want to hop on the opportunity to get some free buzz about a new plugin or to regenerate some buzz about an updated version of a previous plugin.

Go Big

Once you have built some confidence and developed a decent track record working with the plugin owners, make an attempt to go big (never forget those that extended a hand to help out and from time to time make contact with them).

What do I mean by go big? Try contacting service sites (such as Blogorator.com and others), blogs that offer services and products, and affiliate product owners and offer to promote their services and or products in exchange for a testimonial with a linkback or just your domain. If it's a fairly new site, product or service then your chances of getting the green light are very positive.

Think about the exchange from a business standpoint. In exchange for a few minutes of uploading your message, link and head shot, they are receiving free traffic, affiliate referrals and making money online from your efforts. It's a win-win situation that serves both parties.

Be Legendary

Now this may just be wishful thinking here but going legendary will not be easy. Here you will have to give something besides a review and guaranteed traffic because here, you will be contacting sites that are already established and are either on their way out the door (money issues) or just flourishing (making money).

Some questions to consider before continuing:

Why would these owners want to work with you and your blog site? What makes you and your blog site special?

If you can't answer the above questions then put this off for awhile until you can, if you are confident that you have something to offer then continue...

Here you will be contacting the big ebook owners, blog and site owners, online shop owners, and even ad/ affiliate network owners. Now in some cases this owner may be another blogger that already generates a healthy amount of traffic. A prime example, both Yaro Starak and John Chow have great ebooks that they offer for free (Yaro's 'Blog Profits Blueprint' and John's 'Make Money Online'), I know I've read both of them.

However, Yaro has a sales page with testimonials from some big names in the blogosphere and John doesn't. Instead, John has a link to his ebook on his monetization page, smart? Yes, for the sake of this article he would not be the ideal candidate.

Who would you contact?

Debriefing

Don't get your hopes up too high as some people will not see the advantage of obtaining free marketing and traffic and can, at times be close-minded when it comes to thinking outside the box. However, for every no there is a yes as long as you remain persistent (not annoying).

If you are just getting started then you need to build your blog up with anchor articles or posts that will give your blog site some authority while keeping your audience entertained and interested. You will need to find a way to keep the readers or interested visitors coming back to your site.

    About the first two steps in your articles.

    I doubt anyone would place a link to a new blog/site even if you review their products and all. Especially not on their home page, cause they will need to be sure you’re review brings them a pretty good number of visitors. And since you’re just a new blog, you can’t provide that.

      I agree with you on that Mike. That’s why towards the end of the article I mention that bloggers with new blogs would have to build their blogs up.
