Granted there are so many ways to promote your blog site on and offline I just figured i can give you a brief and quick post on 5 not so creative ways to market your blog site.

1. PPC campaigns (Google Adsense, and or Yahoo Publisher) - Of course you are all aware of the concept of arbitrage well apply it to your blog. The point is to drive cheap traffic to your site (ideally one of your pages that will make you money) through PPC (Google and Yahoo are not the only ones).

Example: you pay .05 per click and visitors join one or two of the affiliate programs that you are promoting making you 1.20+ per signup or click.

2. Make your site SEO friendly - If you are using Wordpress then there are some SEO plugins that will make this task a lot easier.

3. Link exchanges - This can be effective depending on the page rank of the site you are exchanging links with. Most PR4+ sites will not openly exchange links with sites that can’t produce mutual returns (just keep that in mind). When all else fails there are 23 Blog Marketing Tips that will help you.

4. Banner space - buying banner space on other sites can be very helpful depending on the site you select to advertise with. However, there are people out there that believe banner advertisements are no longer effective, if you select this option of marketing your blog then I suggest that you use a tracker to track your banners success.

5. Join a link exchange train - this is probably your best choice as it will help increase your PR, Alexa, and Technorati rankings. Not to mention this is a great way of getting your site on another blog site that has been around for some time. There are so many memes and link trains going around i’m sure you will have no trouble jumping on the bandwagon and rising the wave.

These tips are going to work out helpful for my non-blog (planned) sites too!

I recently started using Adwords for a site I started though and have only yielded 2 clicks in a week!
