Conformity, pt. 1

Conformity, that's the idea behind it... How many of us have conformed to some way of life, some form of living, or to someone else's perception of who we are? I would go as far as to say that everyone at one point and time can consider themselves a social victim. I, myself am guilty of conforming to someone else's standards. Guess what... We have all been trained to conform, but hopefully for some there is still faith...

TRUTH.

You see from the day we are all born our parents seem to have it all figured out for us, and society already places labels and stigmas over our head (stereotypes) that we are to live up to, from our personalities, career goals down to marriage and who we should end up with. Do you ever recall your parents telling you to become a Doctor, Lawyer, or Engineer (a prominent profession that gives ordinary people within society an ego complex). Basically, there is a lot of truth found within the writings on the wall if you train yourself to listen. Not just listen, but to actually listen to what is being said and done, yeah yeah i know... There are what? 10% of people who truly listen and 90% who wait for their turn to talk? Well, that's what i mean...

I think it's great that parents have high hopes for their children, but forcing them to conform to their standards alters the creative mind that makes children, children and full of hope. Conformity, is the issue... it's not a good thing... I hear of people making millions doing what they love, simple things like working online, blogging as a matter of fact, and then you have Doctors and Lawyers who are miserable but seen in the public as 'prominent' people and borderline worshiped. It's all backwards...

So where are we headed? I have no clue i just know that there is more to life than chasing a paycheck and working hard to make someone else rich. I can't begin to understand the mentality of corporate robot, who spends more than half of his life heading the the manufacturer (work) for daily tune ups (paychecks). We die younger because we are all becoming accustomed to working harder and longer. Ford was not a smart man when it came to engineering, and product development, instead he recognized his faults and surrounded himself with smart people. Now you have Ford Motors...

Don't get me wrong, Ford was a business man... Life is not about working harder it's all about working smarter... Look at Ray Croc (the burger king), and yes he is known as the 'burger king,' but he didn't flip burgers. Instead he worked smarter. He saw that Americans were always on the run and the sit-in diners were shortly becoming a thing of the past. Well, he bought a McDonalds and began earning major duckets. Not through franchising solely but he is the reason why McDonalds now owns the land under each franchise. Working smarter... When the business fails the company still makes money... hmmmm, Sounds like most brick and mortar franchises nowadays...

CONFORMITY.
[Dictionary] -- compliance or acquiescence; obedience.
Is it in our nature to be obedient? I for one have a serious issue with Sr. citizens. I respect those that related, within reason. I understand that they are full of wisdom and knowledge and i listen but i don't take their shit either. They are human and some are really mean and angry at the cards life dealt them. Society says to treat Sr. citizens with respect, but if you look at health care what message is that sending? Conformity, be 'Obedient,' don't ask questions, just lay down in trust... There is no such thing as a law maker that hasn't broken the law, remember that.

Mark Twain once said, "It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress." Go figure... Question authority! Question religion! Question life! Question your loved ones! Don't conform for the sake of conforming but if you must conform for something... make sure it is for something that will allow you to face yourself in the morning. At night when you close our eyes to go to sleep, it's just you, the decisions you have made, the consequences you have suffered, and the insecurities that you hold tight too...

Life is not about conforming to the masses... we all walk a path that leads to that which is made specifically for us and no one can ever say that they've walked in our shoes to get us where we are today... Hug someone because you're still living and there is always someone that may not understand, or that may be dealing with something heavy...
