Everyone wants to be a millionaire, and sorry to say, but if you are between the ages of 9 and 13 then this may be easier for you to achieve than you think. If you are like me in your mid 20s then this may not be so easy unless you received a headstart. The easiest way to become a millionaire is to save your money in an account with a decent rate of return (most online banks can provide better rates than your local credit union or commercial bank), or put it in a flexible CD, preferably for a few years you’ll receive a higher interest rate.

A flexible CD is a Certificate of Deposit that gives you flexible options during the term of your CD. Most flexible CDs will allow you to add funds up to a certain amount into your account, opt for a one-time rate change without altering the original maturity date, and allows you to withdraw up to 25% of the principal with no penalty one time during the term of your CD (varies in each state, and probably available at your local credit union). This is great if you are starting between the ages of 9 and 13, you have money to put away and you shouldn’t have any bills to worry about. Chances are if you are reading this, then this may be a good idea for your children instead of you. I too am a late bloomer.

Bridging 18 and older, your millionaire calculations using the regular savings method is probably 60 and older. If you are also like me then you hate the idea of becoming a millionaire with one foot in the grave and unable to enjoy your money and life. Let’s make change happen.
