Ever buy a product that you absolutely did not need or thought you needed but never used? Every morning i get up i tun on the tube and there they are, probably the two most popular infomercials about increasing your income and working from home living the American dream.

What better way to profile a high paying affiliate program, contest, product, or service using one of the most successful formats around?

The Infomercial

Infomercials are televised commercials, also known as paid programming or teleshopping, that serve as lengthy commercials/ television programs normally selling a specific niche product.

According to wiki,

Infomercials are designed to solicit a direct response which is specific and quantifiable and are, therefore, a form of direct response marketing (not to be confused with direct marketing). The ad response is delivered directly to television viewers by infomercial advertisers through the television ad. In normal commercials, advertisers do not solicit a direct response from viewers, but, instead, brand their product in the market place amongst potential buyers.

The Elements

1. Always Think Outside the Box

Turn your blog into an experience, applying the elements one by one. Not in any particular order, but make sure to include each element. What are the elements? Well, keep reading and find out...

2. Delivery is key

Every infomercial that you watch begins with an energetic pitch of some host stating that millions have made the call and are already reaping the rewards. The delivery is simple and grabs the attention of the viewers immediately. This sets the tone for the sell to take place.

3. Power of Testimonials

Never underestimate the power of testimonials. With most infomercials its hard to tell whether or not they are legit but regardless they are powerful. The idea is to show your visitors that ordinary people, just like them, have achieved financial success or have found the information to be helpful in achieving their 'traffic generation,' 'blog posting' goals, ect..

4. Emotional buying

Most of the people that watch infomercials and buy-in to programs such as Blog Mastermind, or the products that help you lose weight or increase the size of... (you know where I'm going with this) are 'emotional buyers,' these buyers are most likely spontaneous and concerned with the buyer experience and end results when contemplating a purchase.

5. Emotional Selling

People make buying decisions based on feeling. Learn some power words and about hypnotic writing techniques.

6. 'But Wait There's More'

Offer bonuses to the viewer or customer. Explain what's in it for them and why they need the information or product that you are selling. Make them feel as if they are getting a deal, remember that most powerful selling techniques focus on the emotions of the buyer.

7. 'While Time Lasts'

Limited time offers are great. You would want to add a level of urgency to the information or product that you are selling or giving away for free. I have yet to see one infomercial that actually cancels their 'special bonuses' after the 30-minutes is up. That alone should tell the importance of adding a level of urgency. Although, the deal is pending, once you visit the infomercial site there is usually another 30-minute timer on the screen adding more urgency to there product.

9. The Information or Product

In most cases, infomercials are bogus along with their old and outdated products (remember Don Lapre?) that are so old and outdated that they can't possibly make you money unless you resell the overpriced materials on ebay for more than what you paid (good luck on that).

So make sure your information and or product(s) are quality. When in doubt test them yourself and if they work then you have something good.

    Video is a strong way to reaching audiences..and with YouTube, the possibilities have just grown that much more for those that work at home..
